SAN ANTONIO – Family Service conducted its first in person National Night Out since the pandemic (2019) (our last two were drive through) October 4, 2022. Family Service had more than 500 families registered and more than two dozen community partners that participated with us to help support families, neighbors and the community.

National Night Out is a community event that Family Service is dedicated to supporting in a safe, healthy and fun way. With a mission to promote neighborhood camaraderie and make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live, the ideals of National Night Out perfectly align with Family Service’s mission of empowering individuals and families to transform their lives and strengthen our community.
“We were excited to be able to conduct our first in person National Night Out since 2019. The last two years’ events were drive through, and this year, families were more than ready to come out, have fun, and be with neighbors and friends,” Said, Mary Garr, CEO and President, Family Service. “People were able to eat, dance, play games, learn about community services, and just visit with each other, both inside our Family Service- Neighborhood Place and outside in beautiful Texas fall weather. We appreciate our sponsors and partners who made this a special evening for the entire community.”
Our Fourth Annual National Night Out at Family Service Neighborhood Place brought together an in-person event with sponsors and vendors providing resources, activity kits, and promo items to families to celebrate family time, including goodies from our Presenting Sponsor H-E-B, Neighbor Sponsor River City Federal Credit Union, Silver Eagle Beverages, and Amerigroup.
Individuals and families were treated to a free evening of family fun, food, games, music, Loteria, and tours of the Family Service Neighborhood Place center. Food such as hot dogs, nachos, popcorn and fruit cups from Curbside Eats and numerous snacks and drinks by H-E-B ensured everyone had a great time on a full stomach.
