ANGELS offers a 2-week, comprehensive early care and education training program designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge needed to work in a licensed child care facility. The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS) Child Care Licensing requires all individuals to meet basic training requirements prior to working in a licensed center. Upon completion of the program, participants will acquire:

  • A total of 24 Pre-service training hours that meet the TDFPS requirements for new providers;
  • First aid and CPR certifications;
  • 9 training clock hours that will count towards the annual training requirement;
  • 5 hours of training specific to Head Start; and,
  • 12 hour practicum that allows for hands-on experience in a high-quality early education site.
