Deployment (TRIAD) Fund – a partnership of the
San Antonio Area Foundation and Family Service
Association.
Service Description
Family Service Association provides support services to
family members, whose loved ones have been deployed to
Iraq-Afghanistan for Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)
and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). |

Services available: |
- Home-based, family
strengthening and spiritual support services to
all family members impacted by a service
member’s deployment as well as individual and family
counseling.
- Parenting education and
support services to family members caring for a
military child affected by Iraq or Afghanistan
deployments.
- Child Care Subsidy Assistance
in quality child care centers for families impacted
by deployment. This includes family members with
young children within Bexar County who require child
care services.

Why are these services
available?
With thousands of military personnel in the San Antonio
area involved in the Iraq and Afghanistan deployments,
the impact is taking a physical, emotional, and
financial toll on the families of these dedicated
service members. This creates special challenges for
military families.
Who qualifies for services?
Any service member (active duty, reserve, national guard
or veteran) and their extended family members who have
been impacted by a deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan. |
- Family member and/or parent
who are serving as the primary caregiver for
children whose parent is currently deployed or has
been deployed to Iraq-Afghanistan.
- Extended family members
impacted by a service member’s deployment to
Iraq-Afghanistan.
- Families with a service
member who was injured during the deployment and is
receiving medical services at the Ft. Sam
Houston/Brooke Army Medical Center/Center for the
Intrepid or any medical treatment facility in Bexar
County.
